A big thank you to @Springfield High School Automotive Technology teacher @Mark Simmons and his students for their support of veterans and 2020 Holiday Farm Fire survivors through "Operation Rolling Thunder: Students Supporting Veterans." Leveraging a $5,000 grant from @Harbor Freight Tools for Schools program, Mark and his students repaired and donated a car to US Army Veteran and wildfire survivor, Loran Taylor. MVLTRG was happy to help connect Mark and his team with Mr. Taylor, and we're grateful for their work.

Four years after the Holiday Farm Fire, Robert Campbell and his grandson are finally stepping back into a home on the property they’ve cherished since 2003. 🏡💙
With the support of Lane County, Oregon's Wildfire Recovery Program, and us at the McKenzie Valley Long Term Recovery Group, this incredible milestone is a testament to resilience, partnership, and community strength.
Watch their story and see how, together, we’re rebuilding hope in the McKenzie Valley!

We are still reflecting on our time at Oregon Resilience Summit. Here's John Moriarty's reflection, Associate Director at McKenzie Valley LTRG: "It was inspiring to join community organizations from across the state at the Oregon Resilience Summit. Every aspect of the gathering—from genuine land acknowledgement and grounding to workshops, panels and informal conversations—demonstrated the profound positive impact of community organizations. And also reminded me of how critical it is for those organizations to be able to count on financial support from the government and foundation partners who depend on us to address local needs."
